By Emma Philpott, Sector Training Coordinator, National Services Te Paerangi
Creative New Zealand has supported National Services Te Paerangi to provide an introduction to fundraising workshop for the museum sector in February and March.
The Fundraising: The full picture workshop was delivered in Christchurch, Dunedin, and Nelson in February, and will run in Palmerston North, Auckland, and Dargaville in early March.
The workshops have been provided by Jean Goodband, Creative Giving Manager at Creative New Zealand, who provides philanthropy and sponsorship training to the arts, culture, and heritage sector under the Creative Giving programme.
With Creative New Zealand’s support, we’ve been able to offer these workshops at a reduced rate to help build fundraising capacity across the museum and gallery sector.
We have had a great response to these workshops so far – participants have reported they have a better understanding of the science of fundraising and gained plenty of practical steps to take back to their organisations. Jean’s enthusiasm to encourage good fundraising practice in New Zealand is infectious and we’re sure to see some great ideas put into action.
Here’s what some past participants have to say:
